About Us
Shelby Savings began its journey on July 27, 1982, operating from a small portable building on Austin Street in Center, Texas, with just three dedicated employees. From the beginning, the mission was clear, “serve the people of East Texas with genuine care and dependable financial support.” As James Campbell shared in 1995, “People have much better access to funds because of us, and they know we care about East Texas. Our employees have a feeling for customers and do whatever they can to take care of them. People will respond to and appreciate good service and a caring institution.” Today, that commitment continues. Shelby Savings Bank has grown to eight locations across East Texas and a team of more than one hundred employees, all focused on delivering the same personal service and community first values that built our foundation.
